    An increasing system density almost always improves the system efficiency, ASUS has designed a series of high density servers to offer better choice in the market for users.

    Two Nodes in 1U Doubles the Computing Capability
    Two nodes in 1U offer doubled computing capability compared with a general one-node server. Take ASUS latest RS700D-E6 for example, it is a 1U server with two independent nodes inside, which means four-CPU or 16-core processing in 1U instead of generally 2U space. If filling up a 42U cabinet with RS700D-E6 only, users will have 84 nodes or 672 CPU computing cores in total, doubling the computing capability in the same space.

    High Dense 3+1 Expansion slots in 1U
    High expansion capability improves the I/O performance. 1U server is generally less expandable due to space limit, but ASUS RS700-E6 unprecedentedly provides 3+1 expansion slots for users, including 3 major PCIe expansion slots and 1 proprietary ASUS PIKE slot for SAS upgrade. Different from other solution that occupies one of the PCIe slots for SAS upgrade, users of RS700-E6 still have 3 PCIe slots for more I/O functions.

    Compact 1U in 15” Depth Widen Your Selections on Cabinet
    With compact chassis size, more servers can be fitted in a cabinet, which is especially significant when data center space is limited. RS100-E5/PI2 is such a slim-size (depth of 380mm) server and available for most kinds of cabinet. For example, when RS100-E5/PI2 is fitted in cabinets in depth of 600mm, it’ll be 40% space-saving for the data center compared with that fitted in cabinets in depth of 1000mm, therefore, the compact size will lead to higher utilization rate of data center.
